I am a patriot and proud to be an American! I spent almost eleven years in the United States Air Force and had God not explicitly told me to get out of the military and go into the full-time ministry, I would have made it a career. However, God had a better plan. So in December of 1992 I left the military and began serving the church full-time. Paula and I have been married 33 years. She is one of the hardest working women I know, and she loves the Lord and the church with all of her heart. I would not want to attempt ministry without her. We have two grown children. A son Robbie, and his wife Robyn, and a daughter, Amy, and her husband Todd Kitchens. They all live in Ardmore, Oklahoma along with our identical twin granddaughters, Avery and Sterling who were born Oct 3, 2016 to Amy and Todd. Ardmore became our home in May of 1995 when we were selected as founding pastors of the New Hope Church of God there. We spent 22 years there learning, loving, and growing. Leaving Ardmore and the church was one of the hardest decisions we have ever made. What made it possible was the fact that we were confident that God had called us to Lakeside, here in Norman. Serving God and the church is just about all we know, and life couldn’t get any better! I believe that God has great plans for Lakeside, and Paula and I feel extremely honored to be part of that plan. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us. I hope you will be a part of it!

Young Adult Pastors

James & Marie Crank

James and Marie met in Newberry Springs, California and married shortly after. We have been happily married for 30 years and we have been blessed with 3 sons and 5 beautiful grandchildren. Our oldest son Wayne is married to the love of his life Tamara, and they have 2 children Mekayla 14 and Harley 9. Middle son Travis and his sweetheart Nicole have two girls Karsyn 13 and Kaleigh 9. Our youngest Ryan is engaged to his sweetheart Averie, and they have a son Brody 9. We moved to Oklahoma in 2001. James and Marie joined Lakeside Church in 2022. James is currently studying Evangelism through Christian Leaders Institute and his very excited to be teaching the Young Adult Ministry Class. James and Marie are dedicated to serve our Lord and being a part of the Lakeside Church Family.

Children's Pastors

Kyle & Shantel McDonald

Kyle and Shantel were both raised in church from an early age, and have always been involved in children’s ministry for almost all of their married life. 

Kyle and Shantel (Shan) have been married  since 1991. They are proud parents of 5 children- Ashlee and her husband Payton, Hayden and his wife Shelby, Brayden, Trayden and Kaitee.  They have 4 grandchildren- Caden, Kynlee, Colt and Gunner. 

In their 25+ years in ministry, their mission has always been the same: to love children  and teach them who they are in Christ.  You will find them every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening in the Lakeside Kids Corral, along with their faithful sidekick, Lakeside Larry.

Youth Pastors

Patrick and Sabrina Holmes

With 17 years of marriage and four incredible boys, they are a family rooted in faith and community. Their journey began at Lakeside, where Patrick grew up and where Sabrina now calls home. It was at Lakeside that their paths first crossed, leading to a beautiful union at The Church.

For Patrick, Crosswalk holds a special place in his heart—a place where he feels called to serve the youth of this generation. With 15 years of combined experience in youth ministry, they believe that God has opened doors to bring them back to their home church, where they are dedicated to ministering to the youth of today, who are the future of tomorrow.

Their family is deeply involved in both church and community life, with their four boys keeping them on their toes both inside and outside the church walls. They are passionate about their faith and excited for the journey ahead.

Administrator

Debra Dolan

Debra has been a member of the Lakeside family for several years but she never expected to become a staff member. Sometimes God has better plans. She is now the Administrator for Lakeside Church of God and loves every minute of it.

Debra has a degree in Business Management from Oklahoma State University and worked in the banking industry for over 25 years. She’s been married to her devoted husband, Buddy, for over 40 years and they have three children and one granddaughter. Their youngest son, Nicholas, is a special young man with Down Syndrome and is a blessing to their lives as well as many others.
